The TBA has compiled a list of things to do, eateries, local businesses, and other info you might find helpful.   All directions listed are from Tuckerton Beach.

Ferry to Beach Haven – Purchase tickets on-line at tuckertonseaport.org. To get there turn left onto Route 9. The ferry leaves from there at 8am, 11am, 2pm and a sunset sail at 4:30pm returning to Tuckerton at 6PM, subject to change by weather. You should make reservations or chance availability. The return schedule is also on-line. In addition to the beach there are shops for clothing, casual jewelry, food, ice cream, amusements, Maritime Museum and waterpark.

Local Beach trip:  

  • At the end of Radio Road on Osborne Island (or head to LBI)

  • Great Bay Blvd all the way to the end.  Park your car and walk along a wooded path to the beach.  (Be aware in the summer months, this area may have a lot of biting green headed flies.

Scenic Drive: Great Bay Blvd all the way to the end (there is a beach at the end).  There are 2 one lane wooden bridges with traffic lights.  Good fishing but beware of the Green headed flies June through September.

Local Parks:

  • Green Street Park:  located at the Bay end of Green Street.  Has a playground for kids with areas to fish crab and picnic.

  • Tip Seamen Park (left onto Route 9) – Tennis and Pickleball courts.  Areas to fish, areas to picnic. 

  • Freedom Park in Little Egg – Hiking Trails

Fishing/Crabbing:

  • Green Street Park:  located at the Bay end of Green Street.  Has a playground for kids with areas to fish crab and picnic.

  • Bait store: located on Green Street next to Dockside Restaurant.

Nearby Restaurants:  This is just a sampling of local restaurants.

  • Sunset Seafood: located in the heart of Tuckerton Beach at the end of Parker Road and Green Street. Just opened this season – the local buzz is good! Open for lunch & dinner with beautiful views of the bay.  Accessible by boat.  BYOB. Waterfront outdoor and indoor dining.

  • Dockside Café:  Green Street, next to Keeney’s Marina. Casual indoor/outdoor dining offering a great breakfast and lunch menu. The newly added outside bar right on Tuckerton Creek is also accessible by boat! Live entertainment.

  • Dynasty Diner: located on Route 9 across from Atlanticare.

  • Doyle’s Pour House:  Great food, sports bar. (Left on Route 9 about a mile south)

  • Cuisine on the Green: Casual or upscale food - part of the Ocean County Culinary Arts School.  Outdoor seating and firepits. (Left to Route. 9, Left on Great Bay Blvd, then right on Radio Road. Follow signs to Atlantis Golf Course! It is on the grounds of the golf course.

  • Grapevine: Great Italian and they deliver. Route 9 North about 2 miles on right. Entertainment

  • Mickey’s Port of Call: Great food, bar, and entertainment; a local favorite.  Outdoor seating available. (Right on Route 9 about a half of a mile North on the left).

  • China Palace: Acme Shopping Center – Good Chinese food here, BYOB.

  • Stewart’s: Route 9 (left at light): great Lobster Rolls, Fish/Shrimp tacos and more! Indoor, Outdoor or Car Hop dining. Closed October through March

  • Kosta’s: Route 9, (right at light) Excellent, authentic Greek food, BYOB

  • Naples Pizza: Rated one of the top 10 pizzas in NJ! Take out or dine in with excellent meal/salad bar options. BYOB, Acme shopping Center Route 9 south.

  • Callaway’s: Outdoor range bar w/bands on weekends, indoor dining, karaoke, golf Simulator, driving range, indoor dining, firepits. Right on Route 9 heading North on Left side (about 8 miles).  

  • Asian Wok: Excellent sushi, sashimi, as well as Chinese cuisine Route 9 on right past Sea Port

  • Parson’s: (Take out clams/oysters/fish).  Fifth generation owned clam and oyster farmer right on Green Street. They supply fresh daily to local restaurants and beyond. Seafood is also available based on local caught hauls!

  • Union Market: Route 9 past Stewarts turn into Seaport entrance. Trendy coffee shop, healthy food options, gift shop. Indoor and outdoor seating.

  • McDonalds: the famous fast-food chain. Left onto Route 9.

  • Papa D’s Original Sausage & Peppers – family-owned Italian takeout restaurant on Rt 9

Ice Cream:

  • Pine Cone:  left on Route 9 about ¼ on right past ACME.

  • Kohr’s: right on Route 9 about 2.5 miles

  • Jeffreeze: right on Route 9 about 6 miles and it will be on your left-hand side.

Shopping: 

  • Acme Supermarket: left on Route 9 South about ½ mile past Seaport on Left

  • ShopRite Supermarket: right onto Route 9, located on 72 EB in Manahawkin.

  • Walmart Superstore – South on Route 9

  • Tuckerton Emporium: Next to Wawa on corner of Green Street & Route 9. Interesting items by local artisan’s, antiques, new & vintage clothing, beachy/bay artwork & more!

Liquor Stores:

  • Tuckerton Liquors: right at Route 9, one block down on right.

  • Louna Liquors:  left at Route 9, just past Rite AID on left.

Tuckerton Seaport: Check Tuckerton web page https://www.facebook.com/thetuckertonseaport/

for events at Seaport (next to Stewarts) often there are outdoor concerts, festivals, and other events. Also, the Seaport offers gift shop, museums, and Jacques Cousteau Children’s Museum. Cool things to do & check out local lore and history!

Tuckerton/Beach Haven Ferry: Relax on a boat trip to Beach Haven without the hassle of driving the Causeway!  https://lbiferry.com/ for schedule. Tons of things to do and see walking distance of the ferry stop. Shopping, food, Ship Bottom Brewery, Maritime Museum!

Golf Courses:

  • Atlantis http://www.oceancountyparks.org/frmGolfHome : located off of Radio Road in Mystic Island.

  • LBI National at Seaview: located on Route 539 (the old Sea Oaks Course).

  • Golf Range & mini golf/arcade/Restaurant, Callaway’s: right onto Route 9 North about 6 miles down on left.

Nurseries & Plants

  • Hand’s, left on Route 9 South on the left near Acme
  • ​Buy Rite Shrubs – right on Route 9, several miles down on left. (Also, seasonal produce, Christmas Trees)

Hardware Stores

  • Trish’s Hardware – right onto Route 9 – ¼ on left.

  • Tractor Supply – left onto Route 9 just across the street from Walmart on the left.

Marinas: (this is a small sampling of marinas in the area).

  • Tuckerton Marine – boat storage and boat ramp

  • Sheltered Cove – Offers boat ramps, gas pump as well as RV park/boat storage.

  • Maritime Marina – boat storage and 24 hour boat ramp

  • Cedar Cove – boat storage and boat ramp

  • Skinner Marina– boat storage and boat ramp

Trash

  • Trash collection and recycling takes place on Monday mornings.

  • Bulk trash pickup (call by appointment)

  • Recycle cans must be purchased by the homeowner. Town provides trash receptacle – contact Public Works Department.

  • Trash drop-off at Public Works on Green Street, must provide proof of residency (bring a bill with your name and address on it).

  • Community Garden – near Tuckerton Food Pantry

  • Tuckerton Decoy and Gun Show – September at Tip Seamen Park on Route 9

  • Tuckerton Annual 4th of July Fireworks display across from the Seaport date to be determined.

  • Pickle Ball – Tip Seaman Park 9am every Sat & Sun, weather permitting. Just show up to play.
